Contrary to what you might have heard, there is an active nightlife in the Deer Valley area. In fact, the Deer Valley/Park City area has more alcoholic beverage businesses per capita than any other place in Utah. There are a few things to know about Utahs liquor laws if you plan to drink here. Many establishments that serve alcohol are private clubs. Visitors can purchase an inexpensive membership that is good for three weeks at that establishment. This will allow entrance and consumption of alcoholic beverages during that time period. So, technicalities aside, there are plenty of places to get a good drink, listen to live entertainment, and dance; if that is part of your vacation plan.
For the greatest selection of clubs and pubs, you should head to the heart of Park Citys historic district. If you desire live-entertainment, check out the Spur Bar and Grill on Main Street. This is a no-smoking establishment. Although it is cowboy themed, it is very comfortable rather than rustic inside. The Spurs sister location is 350s Main. Their Jupiter Cosmopolitan was voted in 2005 as Park Citys signature drink. Another place offering music in the form of jazz, funk or acoustic is Mother Urbans Ratskeller. This place is also known for locally produced burritos and a wide-selection of bottled beers.
During the 2002 Winter Olympics, celebrities flocked to Harry Os. This is a hip dance club with live bands or a DJ. Club dress is required and lines are to be expected. Also expect a heftier membership fee at this popular hangout. Another place to get your groove on is Ciseros. This place is both a packed dance club on one floor and a fine dining establishment on the other.
Other bars of interest are OShucks and No Name Saloon. OShucks is so-named for the oysters they serve by the dozen. This place is small and can bring a crowdlots of locals. Tuesday nights offer $3 giant beers and burgers. No Name Saloon is next door offering live music and a fun atmosphere. Other places to eat and drink are Bandits Bar and Grill and Wasatch Brewing Company. Bandits is a casual place offering hearty meals of barbeque and steak fries. Wasatch Brewing Company also offers casual dining and local brews.
You wont have to go far to find a cool, nighttime hangout in this area. Whether you are interested in a traditional pub, a more romantic date bar, or a rowdy dance club; you have plenty of options. Winter or summer you will find a drinking establishment to fit your mood and budget.
